Mechanical Engineering Diploma N1- N6

Kland International College, Department of Mechanical Engineering is a research led department that is dynamic and a vibrant place to study and carry out research whether you are a prospective student or an industrial collaborator. The department has a long standing reputation for nationally leading research and quality teaching.

Entry Requirements:

Grade 9 or a senior certificate (Grade 12) or an appropriate National Certificate (N3) or a National Senior Certificate or an equivalent certificate.

Duration: 6 Months per Certificate.

Subjects:

N4: Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, Mechanotechnics, Mechanical Draughting/ Supervisory Management.

N5: Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Mechanical Drawing and design/Supervisory Management, Mechanotechnics, Fluid Mechanics

N6: Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Supervisory Management,   Mechanotechnics, Power   Machine/Fluid Mechanics.

Electrical Engineering  N1-N6

The purpose of this course and qualification is to provide learners, education and training providers and employers with the standards and range of learning required to work effectively within various industries, making use of electrical engineering knowledge and skills to meet the challenge of such an environment.

Qualified learners will also be able to relate their learning to scientific and technological principles and concepts. They will also be able to maintain and support the various policies and procedures related to the safety, health, environment and quality systems that govern their workplace.

Qualifying Learners at N6 will be able to:

  • Telecommunications (Telkom, MTN, Vodacom)

  • Chemical Industries
  • Motor Manufacturing/Automotive Industries

This qualification can assist with the achievement of national government and industrial development policies and strategies to grow a pool of scares and other related skills in support of sustainable economic growth.

This qualification is designed to meet the needs of learners within the electrical Engineering Sectors who require technical expertise and essential knowledge needed to earn formal qualifications.

The qualification facilitates access for previously disadvantaged groups and other learners to acquire the technical knowledge and skills that are required as well as providing access and mobility into higher level more specialised occupations. This then allows learners greater employability and support to the development of small and medium enterprises (SME)

All examinations are administered by the Department of Education.

Civil Engineering N4 – N6

Civil Engineering uses scientific and engineering principles to   construct the physical and natural building environment, including the structures such as bridges, roads, canals, dams, and buildings. Qualifying learners will also be able to relate their learning to scientific and technological principles and concepts. They will also be able to support and maintain the various policies related to the safety, health, environment and quality systems that do govern their workplaces. Civil Engineering is grouped into seven major divisions of Engineering:

  • Environmental
  • Geological
  • Water Resources
  • Transportation
  • Construction
  • Urban Planning
  • Materials Engineering
  • Coastal Engineering
  • Surveying

Qualifying Learners at N6 will be able to:   Find employment in the following sectors:

NATIONAL DIPLOMA APPLICATION:

The learner will be qualified to apply for National Diploma after completing a minimum of 18 Months In-service training.
